Why The Nigerian Law School was Set Up

Prior to the establishment of the Nigerian Law School, those who studied law in Nigeria had to receive legal practical training in England before being called to the English Bar. After Nigeria got her independence in 1960, the Nigerian Law School was established in 1962 by the Federal Government of Nigeria with the sole aim of training aspiring legal practitioners in Nigeria from Nigerian universities and foreign lawyers on Nigerian law practice. The legal institution had since been providing practical legal training for all Nigerian Law Graduates. This Institution trains students on legal ethics, civil & criminal law, corporate law and property law.
