Nigeria’s first private university is accredited by the National Universities Commission (NUC) with other professional bodies, including the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN), Computer Professional Council of Nigeria (CPCN), Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN), and Council of Legal Education.

Some of its faculties within the university which are all accredited by the NUC includes: Law Faculty, Medicine, Pharmacy, Engineering, Arts and Social Sciences, Natural and Applied Sciences, and Business and Management Studies. As with other universities in Nigeria, the university is supervised by the Vice Chancellor.
