The first degree awarded to art students who graduate from the university after offering these art courses isn’t BSc, but B.A (Bachelor of Arts).

GENERAL ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR ART COURSES INTO NIGERIAN UNIVERSITIES
- Philosophy
For O’level, candidate should have five (5) SSCE credit passes which must include English language and four (4) other relevant subjects. For JAMB, subject combination include any three subjects.
- English Language
Candidate must have five (5) SSCE credit passes which must include: Literature in English, English Language with three other Arts or Social Science subjects. For JAMB, the subject combination include: Literature in English, one other Arts subject with another Arts or any Social Science subject.
- Religious Studies
For O’level, student should have five (5) SSCE credit passes which should include English Language and CRS/IS. His or her JAMB UTME should have CRS/IS and any other two subjects.
- Archaeology
Candidate should have five (5) SSCE credit passes that will include English Language and one (1) of these subjects: Religious Studies, Geography, Economics or History. The JAMB subject combination include any two subjects from Arts, Social Sciences and anyone from History, Religious Studies, Government and Geography.
- Theatre Art
Student should have five SSCE credit passes that will include English Language and Arts subjects. JAMB should include Literature in English and two (2) other related subjects.
