The current Ooni of Ife is His Imperial Majesty, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi (Ojaja II). He is the 51st Ooni of Ife. Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi was born on 17th May, 1974 to Prince Ropo and Late Mrs Margaret Wuraola Ogunwusi in Ile Opa family compound, Ile Ife, Osun State, Nigeria.
On 26th May, 2015, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi was selected as the king-elect of Ile Ife Kingdom, out of 21 contenders to the Ooni stool. The announcement was made by the Governor of Osun State, Rauf Aregbesola.
Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi defeated a number of competitors including his elder brother, and he received his Staff of Office from Governor Rauf Aregbesola on 7th March 2015, at Enuwa Square, Ile-Ife, Osun State, in the presence of several dignitaries including the Vice President of Nigeria, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo.
Educational Background
Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi in his early years, attended Sobuola Memorial Nursery and primary school in Ibadan, Oyo State Nigeria. The Ooni of Ife completed his primary education at Ibadan District Council (IDC), Akobo, Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria.
In 1985, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi attended Loyola College, Ibadan, led by Reverend G.B Daramola, the principal of the college. He later proceeded to Ile Ife at Saint Peter’s Secondary School, Omi Okun, Ile Ife led by Late Johnson Adesina, where he completed his secondary education.

He later married Ashley Afolashade Adegoke, an Ile-Ife princess, as his fourth wife. And on 20 March 2022, he married yet another Ile-Ife Princess, Ronke Ademiluyi, as his fifth wife. Asake Temitope Morenike Adesegun became the Ooni’s sixth wife on March 24, 2022.
