In Nigeria today, we have a number of good Bible schools; while some are independently owned, others are affiliated to various churches in the country.

While attending Bible school doesn’t necessarily make you a Pastor, as the processes of ordaining one a Pastor vary with individual churches and denominations, the education you need to become an effective minister of the gospel can be gotten from the bible schools we will talk about below in no particular order.

1. Rhema Bible Training Institute, Nigeria

This Bible school was established in 2010, in Abuja and it is also known as Rhema Nigeria or RBTI. It was founded by an English couple, Rev. Matthew and Julie Beemer and it is currently headed by Rev. Tokunbo Adejuwon.

This institute is a branch of Rhema Bible Training Institute, Worldwide which is a brainchild of the popular Pentecostal preacher, Rev Kenneth Hagin. Rhema Nigeria has 3 training centres in Abuja, Kaduna and Port Harcourt.

One is eligible for admission once one reaches 16 years. Apart from the age limit, there is basically no requirement for admission apart from a passion for the things of God and the willingness to stay committed to the course.

2. Redeemed Christian Bible College

The Redeemed Christian Bible College (RCBC)  is owned and run by the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG). The focus of this college is train ministers all over the world to be effective leaders, administrators and ambassadors of God and the college.

The college was founded in 1980 and it currently has 13 centres, 7 departments, 64 courses and 971 campuses. Some of the courses they teach are: diploma in pastoral ministry; advanced diploma in biblical studies; advanced diploma in religious education; diploma in theology; and a computer programme called IT Essentials.

3. Abuja Bible College

Abuja Bible College, also known as ABC runs with a vision to glorify Jesus in West Africa through the preaching of faithful ministers.

The course duration for part time students is 2 years while that of regular students who are on full time is 1 year. They offer courses that focus on aspects of ministry like the principles of expository teaching, pastoral ministry, evangelical essentials, and engaging with God’s world.

4. Word of Faith Bible Institute

WOFBI is owned and run Living Faith Church Worldwide (Winners Chapel). The courses taught at WOFBI are quite applicable to both spiritual and secular life. The ministry has produced over 150,000 graduates since its inception in 1986.

Some of the courses offered include the Basic Certificate Course, Leadership Certificate Course, and Leadership Diploma Course

5. Gospel Apostolic Church Bible College

This Bible school is situated in Gbagada, Lagos and it runs with a vision of raising disciples for Christ among all nations. It is the owned by Gospel Apostolic Church.

6. International Bible Training Centre

It is owned and run by Deeper Christian Life Ministry. Their courses are based essential truths of Christian Ministry.

The International Bible Training Centre runs a twelve-month programme for pastors, evangelists, soul winners, Christian ministers and workers. The training is divided in two parts, six months at the centre, two months of practical involvement in Christian service outside the center and another four months of intensive training at back at the centre.
