The National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) is Nigeria’s largest Federal tertiary institution which offers Open and Distance Learning (ODL). National Open University operates from Victoria Island in Lagos where its Administrative Headquarters is located.
NOUN Study Centres are spread throughout the country offering over 750 courses and about 50 programmes. Although, NOUN do not carry out lectures in normal classrooms or lecture halls like other Universities in Nigeria. NOUN examinations are usually Computer Based (CBT). It has all its courses accredited by the National Universities Commission (NUC).
NOUN iLearn
The National Open University of Nigeria implemented an iLearn portal technology to improve its student’s learning experience in providing quality education. The NOUN iLearn platform was designed to
- Create a virtual classroom environment where online class discussions can thrive.
- Access answers to difficult question for students in respect to their course of study.
- Access audio materials and smart e-Book digitized lecture video for improved and optimized student’ learning experience which is available on the platform.
- Access to quizzes, assignments and self-study evaluation tools.
