DSTV Nigeria services is controlled by Multichoice and offers one of the cheapest pay TV subscription in Nigeria. HD channels, HD PVR decoders, and DSTV mobile TV service are just some few services added for DSTV Nigeria by Multichoice.

Also for sport lovers, the DSTV Compact Plus package added by Multichoice can come in handy. It is a cheaper option for those who love watching sports. With this current DSTV Nigeria packages new price list for 2023, The DSTV Compact Plus package goes for a monthly price of ₦16,600 only. There is also the new DSTV Explora which was recently added into the bouquet offered by DSTV.

While the NBC and national assembly has ordered Multichoice to reduce their tariffs due to the COVID-19 pandemic, DSTV has started removing important channels from most of their packages. They even sighted they might stop showing soccer matches as they can’t keep up with low patronage and the failing Nigerian economy.

The initial access charge for DSTV is usually around ₦18,900 to ₦25,000. Although, the price varies. This initial charge will cover the cost of the satellite dish, cables, DSTV decoder and other installation charges with a 3 months subscription access. It seems Multichoice has discontinued the access and family package, and has increased the prices for the rest. See them below

DSTV COMPACT PLUS PACKAGE COST ₦16,600 A MONTH

As said in the introduction of this post, the DSTV Compact Plus bouquet gives you all 145+ DSTV Compact channels with two sports channels as an addition. This sports channels include SuperSport 7 and SuperSport 10. This package offer Sport lovers wider access to different kinds of premium sports against the expensive DSTV Premium bouquet.

Sports like basketball, golf, tennis, motorsport, Spanish La Liga e.t.c are available for those who subscribed to the DSTV Compact bouquet. You would also be able to watch 90% of the English Premier League matches if you are an English football lover.

This particular package is the best as channels exclusive to DSTV Premium package are Mnet Movies 1 & 2, History Channel, SuperSport 3, Discovery channel, Boomerang, and all HD channels, and much more.

You also get a DSTV Mobile+ free package for subscribing for this package as long as you have a DSTV Drifta decoder.

This is the highest priced DSTV package as well as the most complete. The premium bouquet provides full access to 160+ channels at ₦24,500.

STEP 1- Login to the quick teller platform or App

STEP 2- Enter your DSTV smart card Number and any other details required by the platform.

STEP 3- Click the Next button to go to the billing page that provides you an option to make payment with your ATM card. At this point, you enter your ATM card details and bank token if required.

STEP 4- Wait for your request to process. it takes about 2-5 minutes.

HOW TO ACTIVATE YOUR DSTV SUBSCRIPTION AFTER PAYMENT

You send your DSTV smart card number with this Code “RA” (without the quotes) to the DSTV self-care number 30330.

LATEST NEWS ON DSTV PLANNED INCREASE ON PRICES OF SUBSCRIPTION (DECEMBER, 2023)

According to Multichoice, Premium subscribers on DStv will pay ₦24,000 as opposed to ₦21,000 for premium. This announcement by the cable TV company has promised to adjust both its DStv and GOtv prices so as to implement the new VAT rate of 7.5% from 5%.

Henceforth, Subscribers of Compact Plus will have to pay ₦16,600 against ₦14,250. Also, Compact bouquet price has been increased from ₦9000 to ₦10,500. Confam bouquet subscribers will now pay ₦6,200 against ₦5,300 while those using the Yanga plan will pay ₦3,500 against ₦2,950.

Max on GOtv subscribers will pay ₦3,280 from ₦2,999 while Jolli and Jinja subscribers will pay ₦2,999 and ₦6,900 respectively.

MultiChoice dully explained that the increase in prices was in line with the legislation of the Federal Government which increased VAT, with implementation effective as soon as possible.

“In order to provide some relief for customers, MultiChoice Nigeria has absorbed the cost of increase in VAT for the past four months, keeping its products and services at the old 5% VAT, however this is no longer possible and the mandated 7.5% VAT will be applied accordingly”.
